Simply Movies

The team at Imagine TX has pulled out all the stops to ensure the launch of new satellite channel Simply Movies could make it to air on schedule.

Apollo Media Services approached us to undertake full-scope editing work for the channel, which brings together the best of British and American movies from the 1930s through to the 1970s.

Working with a Sony back catalogue which arrived a scant 3 weeks before the channel was due to launch, Imagine TX has been working round the clock to take on the challenge of re-cutting movies to coordinate with commercial breaks, as well as creating promotional clips and trailers for each of the classic blockbusters.

We don't like to blow our own trumpet, so we'll let Tony Hazel, Channel Manager for Simply Movies, do it for us:

The team has really stepped up the challenge to make sure we had 30 movies ready for launch only 3 weeks after receiving the original films from Sony. It's quite an achievement and testament to the skills of the team here."

Mark Lediard, Head of Imagine TX and two time winner of the Royal Television Society Award for Best Editor, has been overseeing the project alongside Tony. He said:

"We're all film buffs at heart so working with classic material from sci-fi to westerns and everything in between makes for a good day at the office! The team has been working flat out, but it is hugely rewarding to see the fruits of our labour as it plays out daily on Simply Movies."
